Spread the love

Hey my beautiful people, welcome back to my blog! I received my first ever makeup box AKA voxbox from the mega influencer site; Influenster. I’m so freaking excited Influenster chose me to review products for free. Today’s post will be an Influenster review on the lovely makeup I received in my first ever Voxbox.

They hooked me up a few complimentary products from the CoverGirl Vitalist Healthy Collection for me to try out and share my thoughts on. Yes, you heard me FREE makeup from a boss brand like CoverGirl! If, you want my honest opinion on how these products worked for me, the scoop on Influenster and how to get a free makeup box keep reading!!!

Vitalist Healthy Powder($11.99-$9.99)

review products for free

4 Shades: Warm Beige, Medium Beige, Buff Beige and Classic Ivory

Claims: Diffuse the look of imperfections with this powder’s extra soft, vitamin-infused formula-leaving your skin looking naturally fresh and flawless. Wear alone to enhance your natural beauty, or over your makeup as a setting powder.

The first thing I’m going to talk about in this Influenster review is the powder. The packaging of this powder really caught my eye right off the bat. I loved the size of the compact and the cut-out window so you can see what the exact color is that you are getting. It comes with a flat disk-like sponge and a really clear mirror. The color sent to me was Warm Beige, which is the darkest shade. Now, this powder was very soft and buttery, but it was not the right shade or undertone for me.

The powder was too light, and it had a very warm orange undertone. My skin’s undertone pulls more golden/yellow and is about 2-3 shades darker than what they sent to me. I used the ELF flat top powder brush for application over skin that I had only primed because I wanted to see how it would hold up on its own. It gave me very light coverage. I would recommend spot concealing if you plan on wearing it on its own without any liquid foundation.

Vitalist Healthy Concealer ($10.99-$8.99)

Makeup Box 6 Shades: Deep, Medium/Deep, Medium, Medium/Light, Light, and Fair

Claims: A creamy concealer that covers skin’s imperfections without piling on a heavy layer. Use the soft brush tip to hide blemishes, while the formula, infused with Vitamin E, B3, and B5, works to help improve overall texture for bright, healthy look.

This concealer comes with a brush applicator. The packaging is see-through, and you have to twist the bottom of the tube to push the product up to the tip. I don’t care for those type of applicators because sometimes you push up way too much product. The color sent me was Medium/Deep, which is the second to darkest shade. Unfortunately once again the shade was way to light for me…sighs.

The formula has a very creamy consistency and a neutral undertone. I applied it to my under eyes, chin, and forehead as a highlight and used my Real Techniques beauty sponge to blend it out. The concealer blended out to sheer coverage, so I would recommend using a synthetic brush if you want more fuller coverage. I set it with the Sacha Buttercup Setting Powder.

Vitalist Healthy Glow Highlighter ($10.99-8.99)

influenster review

6 Shades: Sundown, Moonbeam, Candlelit, Sunkissed, Starshine, and Daybreak

Claims: Designed to illuminate your natural skin tone, this blendable cream formula provides a refined glow perfect for applying along the highpoints of your face. (cheekbones, brow bone, nose and cupid’s bow)

I am so here for the GLOW, so this was my favorite from the three products I received in my makeup box! The packaging was very different from most highlighters I’m used to seeing. It reminds me of a potted cream eyeshadow. The highlighter has a very smooth, creamy almost whipped like consistency which I like very much. It looks off white in the glass jar, but when it is on the skin, it has a beautiful yellow gold glow to it.

I was surprised because I thought it was going to be to light for my skin tone, but it leaves my skin with a lovely sun-kissed illumination! I tried to put it straight on my face and then blend it out with my sponge, but that was a no-no.

I recommend placing the product on your finger-tips or a brush and then applying it to the face. I can see myself using this all summer under my foundation on the high points of my face for a little extra glow or on my bare skin on days I don’t want to wear any face makeup, just moisturizer, and primer.

Final Thoughts On This Makeup Box

Overall, I loved the simplistic black and white color scheme of the packaging! You definitely know this is the CoverGirl Vitalist Healthy Collection when you see it, the concealers and powders could be better as far as shade range and undertones but the products them self-are not bad.

I just wish I could have experienced the whole natural, healthy look that CoverGirl was going for with this collection, if the colors would have been a better match I think I would have enjoyed those two products more. The highlighter was BOMB.com though!! It is a very versatile product that can be used as an eyeshadow and even on the body, which is a plus.
