This article is going to be about tips for Universal Studios Orlando and what we had experienced down there. Unlike travel pros, my family and I are rookies in traveling. But we’re hoping to do more traveling this year. Orlando FL is a beautiful city and a travel destination for many people around the world to visit. It has so much to offer for a family vacation from the weather, various cultures, and food. The main reason we went down to Orlando, Fl was for my graduation ceremony from Full Sail University to obtain my Bachelor’s degree in Internet Marketing. Go Full Sail!!!!

#1 Tips for Universal Studios Orlando – Find A Great Hotel Location from a Travel Agency

This is one of the most important tips for Universal Studios Orlando because you want to be located by the festivities. Plus, Orlando’s traffic is one of the world’s worst according to recent a study conducted by Intrix. If your nervous about driving on the highway or even within the city, my advice to you is to book a hotel close to everything. They’re some crazy drivers down there. The hotel we stayed at was the Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Orlando International Drive. This Hotel is near the Orange County Convention Center and is convenient to the famed theme parks of the city, including Walt Disney World, SeaWorld, and Universal Studios.

The Best Amenities That Fits Anybody Lifestyle

You can a have a piece of mind knowing you don’t have to cook breakfast in the morning because Hawthorn Suites prepares that for you for free every morning. The breakfast wasn’t the best but you can take a plate or two back to your suite separate working kitchen and spice it up a little bit. One of my favorite amenities has to be the Express Check-in. The Express Check-in allowed us to check in early and if it wasn’t for this option, my family and I would’ve been sitting or shopping around for hours. I believe our original check-in time was at 4:00 pm and we got to Orlando at 10:35 am. We called the hotel after we got the rental car to see if we can check-in early and they said yes.

#2 Tips for Universal Studios Orlando – Visit in March

The beginning of March is the best time to visit Universal Studios Orlando from our experience. The weather wasn’t too hot it was perfect in the high 70’s to mid 80’s with sunshine every day. Universal Studios wasn’t jammed pack with people either. The most we had to wait for a ride was a max of 15 mins. As a side note, make sure to bring some motion sickness medication with you because it’s a possibility that someone may get sick. My son got sick when we came off the Transformers: The Ride 3D because of motion sickness. If you’re planning to visit Universal Studios Orlando later then you should consider purchasing the Universal Studios Orlando Express Pass. With the Express Pass, you can skip the regular lines. Is it worth it you may be asking? Yes, it is and if it wasn’t for the perfect timing of our trip, we would’ve bought them. Just do a simple google search and you will see the positive reviews for obtaining an Express Pass.

#3 Tips for Universal Studios Orlando – Stay away from hustlers

Not just for Universal Studios Orlando but Orlando in general because the whole time we were down there, people we trying to get a dollar from us. Orlando, FL is a big travel destination city so you’re going to have many hustlers trying to sell you everything. Don’t buy into lol! Save your hard-earned money and purchase things that are necessary. For example, we had photographers asking for us to take a picture ever so often at Universal studios but we already had our cell phones and our canon camera. I know they were just doing their job but after the fourth person, it started to get a little irritating.

#4 Tips for Universal Studios Orlando – Stay away from Hard Rock Café

Hard Rock Café

Oh, man when I tell you I was so excited to eat at the Hard Rock Café, you wouldn’t believe me. I felt like a kid on Christmas but after eating the proclaimed Original Legendary Burger my emotions changed quickly. After we start eating the Original Legendary Burger, I felt like a kid on Christmas who received broken toys from Toys For Tots. The Hard Rock Café was a beautiful atmosphere and building but my burger had no seasoning or any taste at all. The fries weren’t that great and to top it off the price was outrageous. If you’re planning on still eating at the Hard Rock Café then I advise you not to buy their burgers. The cook obviously couldn’t cook burgers correctly. Maybe next time I would get a different cook if I was to eat there again.

Wrapping it Up…

We are far from travel pros but one thing I know is that Orlando, FL is a great travel destination for the whole family. For the most part, I’ll have to give Universal Studios Orlando an 8/10. I would have given it a perfect score if it wasn’t for my nasty meal at the Hard Rock Café. The crazy thing about our whole trip is that we didn’t have time to visit the other theme parks that Universal Studios has to offer. You should go in the first week of March for fewer people at the Universal theme park. Purchase Express Passes to skip regular lines if you can’t go in March. Our next trip we will be purchasing travel medical insurance because of what happened previously before our trip. Make sure to read my articles on travel medical insurance companies and the top travel agencies. Look out for those soon in the near future. Have any of you ever visited Universal Studios Orlando before? Would you like to share your experiences with us?
